DISCUSSION
The Planning Commission currently holds its meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of the month following a City Council meeting. These meetings start at 7:00 p.m. In an effort to be consistent with the start time for City Council meetings, increase public engagement, and decrease the cost of overtime for staff members attending these meetings, staff is requesting City Council approve a change to the start time of Planning Commission meetings from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Planning Commission members were asked about making this change and there was no opposition to the change. If the City Council chooses to approve this request, the change would be effective September 20, 2023.
IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES
It’s anticipated that the change in the start time for Planning Commission meetings would reduce overtime costs.
