25-612 1F.1. Report ItemSUBJECT: Engineering Report Changes, Bear Creek Restoration Project Update, Main Street One Way and 2025 SS4A Grant Project Submission REPORT IN BRIEF 1. Since before November 2023, Staff has given the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission an Engineering Report that states: “Engineering staff will provide informational items to the Commission regarding current projects or other items. This item does not require action by the Commission at this meeting.” To better comply with the Brown Act, from this meeting forward, staff will list specific items on the Engineering Report. If the Commission would like to discuss any items not listed on the agenda of the meeting taking place, they would need to place them on a future agenda, when invited to do so. 25-615 1F.2. Report ItemSUBJECT: Merced Comprehensive General Plan Update and Downtown Station Area Plan REPORT IN BRIEF The City of Merced is undertaking a Comprehensive General Plan Update and the creation of a Downtown Station Area Plan. A comprehensive General Plan update is a periodic revision and update of the City’s long-term planning document, which serves as a blueprint for future development and conservation. The last General Plan was adopted in 2012. Over the past several years, individual chapters have been revised as needed. However, due to changes in State law among other things, it has been determined that it is time for the General Plan to be comprehensively updated. A General Plan addresses a broad range of issues related to land use, housing, transportation, infrastructure, and community well-being. Updating it at regular intervals ensures the plan remains relevant and effective. 25-610 1G.1. Business ItemSUBJECT: Election of Chair and Vice Chair REPORT IN BRIEF The Commission must elect Chair and Vice Chair of the Commission. DISCUSSION In accordance with Section 2.52.050 of the City of Merced Municipal Code, A. In accordance with Section 704 of the Charter, the members of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission shall as soon as practical organize by electing two (2) of the seven (7) voting members to serve as chair and vice-chair at the pleasure of the commission. B. Notwithstanding Subsection A of this Section, the members of the existing Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission currently serving as chair and vice-chair shall be conferred their respective roles as part of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission upon the enactment of this chapter shall retain those positions until the next annual election.
