Approving Resolution 2016-46, a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Merced, California, authorizing the City Manager to Execute the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services FY 2015 Grant Assurances Agreement; and, B. Accepting FY 2015 SHSGP grant funds in the amount of $100,000 as revenue in the Intergovernmental - State Government Grants - Other State Grants account 001-0901-324.02-00; and C. Appropriating $100,000 to the Machinery/Equipment account 001-0901-523.43-00 to purchase a decontamination trailer; and D. Authorizing the use of pooled cash to cover the appropriation until grant funds are reimbursed.

REPORT IN BRIEF
Consider accepting Fiscal Year 2015 SHSGP funds to purchase a decontamination trailer.

RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:

A. Approving Resolution 2016-46, a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Merced, California, authorizing the City Manager to Execute the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services FY 2015 Grant Assurances Agreement; and,

B. Accepting FY 2015 SHSGP grant funds in the amount of $100,000 as revenue in the Intergovernmental - State Government Grants - Other State Grants account 001-0901-324.02-00; and

C. Appropriating $100,000 to the Machinery/Equipment account 001-0901-523.43-00 to purchase a decontamination trailer; and

D. Authorizing the use of pooled cash to cover the appropriation until grant funds are reimbursed.

DISCUSSION
The Merced County Office of Emergency Services (OES) has been awarded funds through the FY 2015 State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP). The scope of the grant provides funding to build capabilities at the State and local levels and to implement the goals and objectives included in the State Homeland Security Strategies and Initiatives in the State Preparedness Report.
