Considers awarding a construction contract in the amount of $511,557.52, funded by Measure V, SB1 and Enterprise funds, for City Project No. 120048 "M" Street - Childs Avenue to 8th Street Roadway Improvements.

RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:

A. Awarding the "M" Street - Childs Avenue to 8th Street Roadway Improvements, Project 120048, to TBS Contractors, in the amount of $511,557.52, and,

B. Authorizing the City Manager or the Assistant City Manager to execute the necessary documents and to approve change orders not to exceed 10% of the total contract.

DISCUSSION
The work to be done consists, in general, of installation of an 8-inch water main on "M" Street, from Childs Avenue to 6th Street, and a grind and overlay of the roadway from Childs Avenue to 8th Street. Contract items include: traffic control, trench for new water main, trench backfill, grinding 3-inches of existing roadway, overlay of 3-inches with asphalt concrete, re-stripe and final cleanup.
